Traveling in Oahu, Hawaii

Overview:

Hawaii’s largest island, Oahu, is a memorable destination. I stayed in Honolulu most of the time, but I did get the chance to drive around the entire island and get some exploring in. It takes 4-6 hours to drive around the entire island.

Hawaii has iconic waves ideal for surfing. Just be cautious of rip currents. I stayed in Waikiki, which is the center for dining and nightlife.

Restaurants:

“Egg ‘n things” is my favorite breakfast restaurant in the world and it is located right here in Oahu. The service is phenomenal, and they make delicious omelets and pancakes! They also have a variety of syrups to complement their pancakes. Trying coconut syrup is a must!

Atlantis Seafood & Steak

I can recommend dining at Atlantis Seafood & Steak. They reached all of my expectations. You can expect great service and food that warms the soul. The burgers, steak, and seafood are all worth trying. One of my favorites was the handmade shakes (which are huge).

Tourist Attractions:

Pearl Harbor in Oahu, Hawaii:

Visiting Pearl Harbor is an absolute must-do tourist attraction. Getting to tour this historic site was an amazing experience. Retired battleships and aircraft are located here. As a security measure, everyone must go through airport-like security, and NO BAGS are allowed!

Dole Plantation:

My next favorite tourist attraction that I checked out was the iconic Dole Plantation. It’s famous for its “Pineapple Experience.” Hydrate and apply sunscreen throughout the day.

The Pineapple Express Train gives a grand tour of the landscape. It gave an amazing view of the mountains in the distance as well as the fruits and vegetables grown on the plantation. Dole Plantation also has a Pineapple Garden Maze. This is the world’s largest maze, and it features an exciting scavenger hunt!

Eat at the plantation’s grille. Here, you can find local favorites like kalua pork, loco moco, and chicken teriyaki. Also, try their “Dole Whips,” sourced straight from the plantation and served in souvenir cups.
